Worcestershire County Cricket Club is seeking a new home for the remainder of the season after its New Road ground was again hit by flooding. The club's chief executive Mark Newton described the impact of the weather on finances as "disastrous".
Yesterday should have seen the first day of cricket at the picturesque venue in five weeks. Instead the club spent it evacuating after torrential rain caused the abandonment of the fixture and the Environment Agency warned of serious flooding tomorrow.
