Music-lovers in the West Midlands will be sad to hear of the passing last Saturday morning of Colin Lee, one of the region's most respected and experienced amateur conductors. In recent months he had been in poor health, reduced to near-blindness by a stroke, but had remained a loyal attender at CBSO concerts and other events.
His musical legacy is huge. For many years he was head of music at Lordswood Boys' Grammar School in Birmingham, and conducted the annual Birmingham Grammar Schools' Music Festival in Birmingham Town Hall.See the full content of this document
