Dear Editor, Unlike correspondent Chris Jones (Post, August 23) I turn to Brenda Bullock's column with great enjoyment. I find that she talks more common sense about education than almost any other writer.
Whether 'A' levels are easier than in former years, I cannot judge but I maintain that any exam which can be passed by almost all entrants and the highest grade attained by such a large proportion is not a good vehicle for assessing knowledge. How Chris Jones can accuse Brenda of a "diatribe" I do not know. His letter is certainly that.See the full content of this document
