Dear Editor, - It was interesting to read that the residents in Sheldon want traffic calming obstacles removed. Of course this is now becoming a wide spread problem because, after millions of pounds have been spent on putting in these humps and islands, the residents now realise that it was foolhardy to have insisted they had them installed. You have only to look at the mess it has made to traffic and to the safety issue.
So why has it taken so long for people to realise that road humps cause damage to cars, more pollution and more accidents? We have roads full of stupid painted islands that buses can't get round - you have only to look at the ones by Knowle Station to see that it was madness. Then there are the bollards that create all type of problems for everyone.See the full content of this document
