Dear Editor, my instinct is to back the people in charge of the city: they do a difficult job which is all too easy to undermine. Yet, Lord Bhattacharyya's remarks ring true (Brum 'let down by leaders', Post, Oct 19).
In my experience, the council leadership in Birmingham is guided by the old, and often rather petty, prejudices of their least progressive supporters rather than the fresh and forward looking inclinations espoused by their party nationally.See the full content of this document
