Dear Editor, -I refer to your news item (Post, 3 May) featuring a British Red Cross poll which placed Tony Blair among the leading humanitarian public figures. Upon initially absorbing this surreal statistic, I thought that April Fool's Day had arrived late. Could the Nobel Peace Prize be within our Prime Minister's grasp?

This meaningless survey, which was trumpeted as a poll of the British public, involved a mere 2,000 voters out of an adult population of many millions.
