Dear Editor, - Your article about oral cancers (Post, Nov10) reiterated a point highlighted during last year's look at access to NHS dental care by Birmingham City Council's Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee, namely the ability of dentists to pick up early signs of oral cancers during routine inspections.
How disgraceful, therefore, that the current Labour Government is now saying six monthly dental check ups are unnecessary for many people, advising instead that 12 monthly or even 18 monthly visits will suffice in many cases.See the full content of this document
