Letter: Sticky's Innings Far From Over

Summary

Dear Editor - On June 7, your letters page included a reminiscence from your correspondent Martin Robertson about a 1960s pop drummer named Charles Twystleton-Wyckett, who acquired the nick- name 'Sticky.' Martin wondered whether or not 'Sticky' was still alive.

I am fairly confident that I can re-assure Martin that 'Sticky' is still very much alive and drumming in the Midlands. I have enjoyed hearing 'Sticky Wicket and his Swinging Little Big Band' over the last few years, in particular at the Fiddle & Bone and the James Brindley. Sticky's band now specialise in 1940s jazz and swing, supported by both Sutton Coldfield based vocalist Serena Hoard-Douglas and a selection from our local pool of talented instrumentalists. Very splendid it is too.
