A British Muslim directing a foreign terror mission was forced to abort plans when his boss, the suspected No 3 of al Qaida, was killed, a court heard yesterday.

Rangzieb Ahmed, 33, of Fallowfield, Manchester, was part of a three-man active service cell which had flown from Pakistan to Dubai via China.
