Business failures fell to a three-year low last year, new Government figures showed yesterday.

The number of company winding up petitions in England and Wales fell 2.6 per cent to 11,791, the Ministry of Justice said but the figures may give a false picture of the health of the economy as the figures show quarter-on-quarter increases.
