Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy heads back to familiar territory at Oakwell today to take on home-town club Barnsley - but he won't be expecting the 'red carpet' treatment, writes Ged Scott.

Barnsley-born McCarthy admits to still having a soft spot for the team he followed as a boy and whose shirt he proudly wore for eight seasons after joining them as a 16-year-old apprentice. But his last two visits as a manager, with Millwall in the mid-1990s, ended in heavy defeats. He's not expecting any favours from a free-scoring, unpredictable Tykes outfit.
