Meat Supplier Bucks the Trend As Demand for Chicken Products Soars ; Manufacturing

Cargill Meats Europe (formerly Sun Valley Europe) has created an additional 26 jobs at Its Balllol factory, situated near BU brook In Wolverhampton, following an Increase In sales of Its chicken products of 12 per cent.

The growth has seen the factory, which was established In 1995, move from a five-day to seven-day working pattern. The new positions, which Include line operatives, machine minders, line management and accounting support, cater for these additional working hours, bringing the total number of employees at the factory tol54. Richard Walden, manager for Cargill Meats Europe's Balllol factory, said: "Increasing our production cycle from five to seven days Is obviously great news for us and has meant that we have been able to create more jobs for the people of Wolverhampton.
