Many people will remember Dudley Moore as the diminutive star of the hit films10 and Arthur, and as the long-time comedy partner of Peter Cook, both in the timeless Sixties TV series Not Only But Also, and on the expletive-ridden Derek and Clive LPs of the Seventies.

There was, however, a very different Dudley Moore - the former Cambridge organ scholar who went on to become an accomplished composer and pianist, be it with established classical repertoire or the glorious free-wheeling jazz trio that, in this country at least, made him such an influential figure for successive generations of pianists.
