Three Midland regions were put on flood alert last night after being hit by the heaviest rainfall levels in the country.

People living on low-lying land and roads along parts of the River Rea, Teme, Onny and Corve, and tributaries upstream of Ludlow, Shropshire, were warned they were at risk of flooding.
