Midland Journalists Call Off Strike Over Job Losses

A planned strike by journalists at the Birmingham Post and its sister titles has been called off because no compulsory redundancies will be made among editorial staff.

Members of the National Union of Journalists (NUJ) had voted to strike today in protest over threatened staff cuts linked to the closure of several weekly titles owned by parent company Trinity Mirror Midlands.
