A pounds 4.6 billion bid to transform public transport in the West Midlands has been lodged with the Government.

The wish list of 250 bus, rail and tram projects was drawn up by council leaders in an attempt to reverse congestion on the region's roads, which is estimated to cost the local economy pounds 2.2 billion a year.
