Summary
Kenilworth Castle was originally built out of timber, on the royal estate of Stoneleigh, which King Henry I gave to his chamberlain Geoffrey de Clinton in 1129.
When Henry died, the castle was taken back by his grandson, Henry II, and became property of the royal family again.See the full content of this document
