More Good News for Matalan On Road to Recovery

Discount retailer Matalan laid down another marker in its recovery by reporting an 'encouraging' 4.5 per cent improvement in like-for-like sales.

The group, which has branches in Birmingham, Coventry, Oldbury, Walsall and Wolverhampton, announced a 48 per cent slump in annual profits earlier this year but has shown signs of bouncing back following a range of initiatives, including greater marketing, store refits and a change in the mix of its products.
