A 75-year-old woman died in hospital after contracting MRSA while recovering from a hip operation. Birmingham coroner Aiden Cotter yesterday heard how Barbara Ethel Knight was admitted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham on May 3 after she fell and broke her hip.
