It is certain, barring an extraordinary change of heart, that West Midlands councils will be railroaded by the Government into identifying land for as many as 450,000 new homes by 2026.
This is an enormous figure which many in the construction industry doubt is achievable; and even if development on such a scale does prove to be possible it is unclear who will provide and pay for the roads, schools, hospitals, shopping centres and other infrastructure required to meet the needs of the region's new inhabitants.See the full content of this document
