Personal problems, shortcomings in front of goal and an irregular substitution combined to hand the Walsall player-manager the worst result of his management career - a humiliating 2-1 loss at non- League Slough Town. The Saddlers were sunk by a winning goal which sprang from the 72nd-minute substitution of Daryl Taylor for Mark Wright.
