One of the joys of summer festivals is their happy knack of introducing us to lovely old churches, and on Saturday afternoon the Lichfield Festival moved away from the Cathedral precincts and up an ancient hill topped by St Michael's.
This comfortable, atmospheric venue hosted the world premiere of Returning, a string sextet by Mark Anthony Turnage written for the Nash Ensemble with which he has such close associations, and superbly crafted for the medium.See the full content of this document
