Newcastle clerk of the course James Armstrong is increasingly optimistic about the track's chances of racing tomorrow.
Armstrong had been concerned by days of rain which had left patches of water on the track, but reported last night: "It has remained dry since about 9am and although there are one or two areas of water, I have walked the course with one of the stewards and Niall Hannity (assistant trainer to Ferdy Murphy) and they were happy we could have raced through it.See the full content of this document
