A 'callous and unprofessional' nurse was jailed for five years yesterday for trying to kill two elderly patients in a bid to free up beds.

Ward sister Barbara Salisbury (48) was found guilty of the attempted murders of 88-yearold May Taylor and 92-year-old Frank Owen at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.
