Yesterday morning, the bolt cutters were used to remove the chain barring access to the Tommy Day Nursery in the village of Middleton.

The chain had been put in place on Tuesday night by the parish council to stop entry to the premises. According to the nursery, a staff member and two of her children were in their car and still in the car park, when they found their exit barred.
