Midland nurses feel they are unable to spend enough time caring for patients as a result of mounting paperwork, according to a survey published today.
Instead of attending to patients medical needs, 91 per cent of nurses in the West Midlands claim clerical support is either nonexistent or inadequate, despite the fact nonurgent paperwork has increased significantly since 2003. The Royal College of Nursing's annual congress will today call for urgent investment in administrative support for all frontline nurses, to enable them to spend more time caring for patients.See the full content of this document
