West Bromwich Building Society's 'Raise the Roof' campaign to increase the stamp duty threshold is gaining pace and more than 13,000 people have now signed a petition due to be presented to Chancellor Gordon Brown. The latest organisation to pledge its support for the crusade is the Black Country Chamber of Commerce which speaks for more than 32,000 businesses in the area.
The West Brom wants stamp duty to be raised from the current pounds 60,000 to pounds 150,000 to reflect rising house prices.See the full content of this document
