I don't much want to think about Hollyoaks. Not now Kerry McFadden has been crowned Queen of the Jungle. I call her that after mature consideration. I am thinking, you see, of another not-too- bright blonde who wanted to be Queen of our Hearts. She was also the recipient of a huge groundswell of mindless and, to my way of thinking, depressing popular affection. But she, too, was also obviously not a proper grown-up, displaying child-like (even childish) emotions and reactions to the admittedly dreadful situations she found herself in.

But, boy, doesn't the Great British Public love its vulnerable little girls.
