July 24 1954: Hundreds of holidaymakers queue along the platform at Snow Hill Station, awaiting the arrival of The Cornishman express. The service, complete with chocolate and cream coaches, ran from Wolverhampton to Penzance between 1952 and 1960.
The Birmingham Post is celebrating its 150th anniversary by running a free open-air exhibition at Centenary Square, until January 3.
