Pressure Grows On Black Day for Army

Summary


Three British soldiers were killed in Afghanistan and Iraq yesterday in a black day for the Army, as its most senior officer warned that troops are fighting at the limit of their capacity.

Chief of General Staff General Sir Richard Dannatt said the Army can only just cope with the demands being placed on it by the Government, and warned that the UK had taken on "more than its share" of military work in Afghanistan.
