After an unhappy experience several years ago, I vowed never to darken the door of a restaurant on Mother's Day, especially if it purported to be an Italian restaurant. I hate the mawkish menus and themed dishes - Yummy Mummy Babas, Prawns Pocahontas - and am baffled why far greater importance is given to Mother's Day than Father's Day. It's a sexist nonsense.
When was the last time you saw a Father's Day celebration that didn't involve discount lager, mud-wrestling and a complimentary tattoo? Rotary Club bashes aren't for me.See the full content of this document
