Royal Bank of Scotland yesterday turned up the heat on rival Barclays after sweetening the terms of its pounds 48.2 billion offer for Dutch bank ABN Amro.
RBS, along with consortium partners Spain's Santander and Belgium- Dutch group Fortis, kept its offer at 71.1 billion euros, but said it would now pay 93 per cent in cash in an attempt to trump Barclays' agreed pounds 45 billion merger deal.See the full content of this document
