Summary
The West Midlands Constructing Excellence Awards are presented at the Celebrating Construction Event held each year at the ICC in Birmingham, attended by 1,000 senior representatives from the construction industry in the region. Similar events are held in other parts of the country all focusing on the constructing excellence agenda, and all feed into the annual National Constructing Excellence Awards. Last year two regional winners - Stepnell and Linford Construction went on to achieve national recognition. We asked a number of leading organisations associated with the industry who are also sponsoring the awards this year to explain why they feel why the awards are important to the industry in the region Mark Wakeford, Managing Director, Stepnell As both a regional and national award winner we view the Constructing Excellence Awards as important events in the industry's annual calendar. There are many construction awards schemes around but what really sets this scheme apart is that it is objective, the entry requirements are challenging and it only rewards genuine exceptional performance.
Against the backdrop of a challenging market, it is very important that construction businesses across the West Midlands up the ante and do more to shout about their achievements.
