Property acquisition company, Prime Purchase, which specialises in the acquisition of top-end country houses, says that there has been real signs of recovery since April in the market for houses and estate worth over pounds 2 million with Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and Surrey the strongest performing counties.

Frank Speir, who covers Central England acquisitions for Prime Purchase, says: "The pounds 2 million-plus country market has been improving steadily since mid-April with more serious buyers instructed and a sense that prices are much firmer.
