Midlands-based company Big Creative Ideas is new to me, and so is the subject of Juliet Gilkes-Romero's play, the volunteer force from the West Indies which served with the British Army in Palestine in the First World War.

The latter is hardly surprising, given that the contribution of troops from the empire has been largely airbrushed out of the popular mythology of both world wars.
