But Rigby's mind is firmly fixed on golfing matters. As general manager at The Marriott Forest of Arden, Rigby is focused on ensuring that The Dunlop British Masters, which starts next Thursday, runs as smoothly as possible.

It is beholden upon Rigby to ensure that at least 155 golfers, their families and associates, the European Tour and tens of thousands of spectators enjoy the whole experience of championship golf. Hence, it occupies his mind for one week every year. For the other 51 weeks in the year . . . well, it occupies his mind.
