Rising Share Prices Lift Top Midland Plcs' Pension Assets

Pension assets held by the biggest Midland plcs have risen as rising share prices give funds a "welcome respite".

The 11 schemes monitored by the Hymans Robertson Midlands Pension Index had aggregate assets of pounds 13.5 billion at the end of the third quarter of 2009, an increase of more than pounds 1.4 billion.
