Paul Robinson says that West Bromwich Albion are better equipped now for promotion to the Premiership than Watford were when they won the play-offs in 1999 - and he intends to draw encouragement from what he achieved eight years ago with his former club.

Like Albion in 2007, Watford endured a miserable run of form in March 1999 and seemed unlikely to reach the play-offs. But their form in April and May was brilliant and, under Graham Taylor, they beat Bolton Wanderers in the final at Wembley.
