Until the last few days I could count on the fingers of one finger the times I've felt genuinely sorry for Andy Robinson but even my granite Scottish heart has to admit things aren't going well for Mr B Leaguered and his Red Rose cronies.

The current situation reminds me of the time I bought insurance from Direct Line, didn't read the small print and had something of a shock when, having caved in my Micra's bonnet, was told my policy didn't contain provision for a courtesy car.
