A pounds 100 million British bid to win sailing's "Holy Grail" - the America's Cup - was launched yesterday by the man who helped mastermind the London Olympics bid.

Businessman Sir Keith Mills, aged 56, will put his own money into the project to bring home the cup for the first time, either in 2009 or, more realistically, 2011.
