A pounds 130,000 appeal to save Warwickshire's oldest church from crumbling has been launched at an event themed on medieval times.
Campaigners transformed St Peter's Church and its setting in the village of Wootton Wawen, with minstrels, monks, birds of prey, archery, jesters and wool spinners yesterday. A five-yearly survey found the external stonework of the 1100-year-old Saxon building - hewn by early masons from a small, nearby outcrop - is flaking significantly and, in parts, is potentially a danger.See the full content of this document
