Summary
Optimism in the booming UK construction sector dipped to the lowest level in three years last month as activity levels showed signs of cooling. Despite the moderation in growth, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply said its monthly measure of expansion in the sector remained well above the no-change mark of 50 - recording 55 in October. That compared with 56.8 in September and reflected an easing in the index on new orders, which slipped to 57.3 from 60.5 a month earlier.
With firms also under continued pressure from higher raw material prices, the measure covering future business activity dipped to 71.9 from 73.1.See the full content of this document
