It all turned out to be a damp squib in the end as Shropshire and Staffordshire saw their title hopes washed away, writes Ged Scott. The weather may have cost Staffordshire top slot in the Eastern Division, and Shropshire the same in the Western Division. But with both finishing in the top three, they at least secured a place in next season's C&G Trophy.

Both will be looking for lucrative ties when next year's first round draw is made in the coming weeks.
