Philatelists are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first British Christmas stamps. In December 1966 two schoolchildren won a competition to design the first two Christmas stamps to be issued by Britain.
Young Tasveer Shemza drew a King of the Orient, the winning design for the 3d stamp and John Berry drew a snowman, wearing hat and muffler which judges selected for the 1/6d stamp.See the full content of this document
