The stockbroker Charles Stanley, which opened an office in Birmingham a year ago, caught the eye of the stock market yesterday with half-time profits 34 per cent up and a 32 per cent dividend increase.
The shares jumped 12Vi to 382p after Stanley reported profits of pounds 7.2 million for the six months to September, while its revenues were 14 per cent ahead at pounds 47.6 million, with fee income rising almost twice as fast as its Stock Exchange commissions.See the full content of this document
