A surprisingly familiar figure greeted us as we strolled around the streets of Stavanger, in Norway.
During a short visit to the city on a DFDS minicruise, cast-iron figures created by sculptor Antony Gormley, which looked strikingly similar to his iconic Iron Man in Birmingham and the Angel of the North, were dotted all over the city.See the full content of this document

It just so happens that Stavanger, on Norway's west coast shares the European City of Culture crown with Liverpool this year, and the sculptures are part of an artwork entitled Broken Column, a series of 23 figures, all 1.95m tall, based on a casting of the sculptor's own body.
