Higher rate taxpayers in company pension schemes are throwing away pounds 683 million by not boosting their contributions, a financial services organisation has calculated.
The millions are wasted because 69 per cent of the 1.5 million higher rate taxpayers in company pension schemes have not made any additional voluntary contributions (AVCs). According to IFA Promotion, the body that promotes independent financial advice, if they all took out modest AVCs of pounds 1,650 would mean that pounds 683 million of avoidable waste could be reclaimed from the taxman.See the full content of this document
