It's good to talk, but mobile phone users are finding to their cost that they don't have enough to say.

The mobile phone companies have succeeded in persuading more and more of us to sign up to annual contracts, offering a certain number of "free" calls and texts each month. But, according to a new survey, an average 20 hours of calls per year worth pounds 50 are never made, with the companies cashing in by refusing to roll over the unused minutes to the following month.
