But it appears that the Cockney rhyming slang used by Carter and Regan has been replaced by what's been dubbed ploddleydgook by the Plain English Campaign. Today's politically correct management- driven officers are more likely to talk about mission statements, citizen focus and pro-active policing than get tooled up and raid a gaffe in search of some stolen tom.
