I can't remember who said that you can judge the moral or the ethical base of a nation by simply looking at its television - it is, after all, the window to the world. It's quite apt I think.

But I hope no one applies it to our country because I think, not only they but we too will be disappointed. When every other programme on primetime television is about cooking or DIY or a 'revealing' fly-on-the-wall documentary about vain social misfits talking about or engaged in some of the most mindless trivia, then you know you've got a problem.
